I'll make something. Somebody just tell me where to get all of the required prgrams (winACE, DWI, etc.). Then, I'll have a song out by the end of Summer (its gonna be slow...first time).

Actually Nestlekwik, please correct this. Is getting this winace program really neccisary for making a stepfile. I've got Windows XP, I don't know if that makes anything different, but seriously, do you really need it?

IMing me is torture. I can be incredibly annoying. And before you can block me, you will be scarred by my annoyingness. It will repeat over and over in your head at night, preventing your sleep.

The Bare Bones Guide to Creating a Stepfile
(use this as a supplement to Nestle's FAQ)

prerequisites:
notepad
a song
the BPM to the song

You should have these already.

good idea to have:
DWI
WinBPM

look at the link in Nestle's FAQ to find DWI. Once you download it, take the zip and open it up in WinZip. Extract all contents of the zip to a folder. For example, a folder on your desktop named DWI. There is no installation required, and WinZip will create all neccessary subfolders.

do a search on google for WinBPM, it should be in the first page of links.

Once you have a good song in mind, use WinBPM to find the BPM of the song. use spacebar or whatever button in time with the beat. (duh)

If it changes BPM at some point, be sure to note when it happens. When you note the diffent sections of BPM, take WinBPM and find the BPMs of each section INDIVIDUALLY. Once again, duh.

from there, Nestle's guide should give you more than enough info on how make the actual stepchart.
