    MIDI keyboard suggestions

    I want to pick up a MIDI keyboard for as cheap as possible.

    Priorities:
    1. Durable.
    2. Full-sized, 88-key would be very, very, very nice, but I don't know how much that'll cost. Moar keys is better.
    3. Sustain pedal would be very cool, especially if it's full-sized.
    4. Portable. If full-sized isn't possible or if it's folding or something, portability is nice, but not necessary.

    These aren't in absolute order, but are weighted as such. If you haven't guessed, I'm going to be using it as a replacement piano and possibly for recording to Reason/FL/etc. Cost is a factor too. I don't have any absolute maximum, but lower is better.

      Pick up a used Casio MT-240. They're fairly cheap for an old keyboard. It's nice a small, supports midi, but lacks sustain peddle support.

      If your budget is bigger, though, go for a Casio CT-670. That baby is one of my favorite Midi-based keyboards ever made. It's got a crazy amoung of wave bending and sound banks, as well as full sustain peddle support.

      Oh, and don't shell out your cash for a modern keyboard. There are plenty of old ones just waiting to be bought.

      Edit: ****, those might not be 88 key. Anyway, look into them.

          If you're willing to fork over some hard cash, I would recommend the Yamaha S90ES. Probably one of the best sound quality keyboards.

          She just wants a MIDI keyboard, not a standalone synth.

          I have an Evolution MK-461C. 61 keys, 9 faders, 12 knobs, and pitch and modulation wheels. Fits my needs great. Sustain pedal support too.

          Edit: The keys are kind of flimsy so if you play it a lot it might not fit the durable condition. <_<
