Ok. I've been able to recreate it, so I know it wasn't just a one-time occurance.
Start loading any song. As soon as it goes past 90% click on the category button to go back to the main ffr screen. Then go into Challenge (haven't tested it on FFR Shop yet). The background will be the background of the song you were going to play. :O
