Simle Instructions AFTER Stepping A Song

Alright, I understand how many threads have been made on this already, but I can't seems to understand what they are saying. To whoever can provide me instructions on exactly what to do after you insert the final arrow in a song there will be a reward of 1k credits. Now, these are things you need to know:

I never made any folder or anything before-hand because I didn't know what I was doing. I already made the song, revised it and had someone i know test it. Tell me exactly what to do from here. Don't think I already know something, explain it like I'm retarded, right from after the final note. Thank you.

Save it (Press Esc, go down to save, enter). Exit SM.

Zip the dwi and mp3 and whatever other crap (pictures).

    You're done. Upload it.

Edit: If this doesn't answer your question then I'm not sure I understood it.

This is exactly what I don't want. Please, tell me how to get the .dwi and everything. Remember, I'm retarded.

Be patient. It's only been a little over an hour since you made this thread.

If the simfile is completed and you've had someone test it, take the folder that the song and steps are located in and compress it (.zip, .smzip, and .rar are all acceptable). Then upload it wherever you please (FFR Simfile DB, Bemanistyle, etc.) and let people download and/or play it.

If you need anything specified there, tell me. I think it's pretty thorough, though.

EDIT: Ducky's below is even more thorough. Covers before editing, too.

What do you mean, how to get the .dwi? That's your stepfile.

Also, do you want this on Resonance, or are you submitting it for R1?

Oh. Sorry, u84. I assumed you were just going to put it up for people to download. If you want it on FFR the Game, I believe you have to send the song folder to Tass, and it'll be judged.

Re: Simle Instructions AFTER Stepping A Song

                Ok, here's what you do

                1. Download the following file (right-click and save as)

                2. Put it somewhere where you'll remember it.

                3. copy the steps.sm file and put it in a folder with the song you're stepping and name the folder as the title of the song. Place this folder within another folder (name it Works in Progress) inside the Stepmania Songs folder within Program Files.

                4. Make the stepfile using the Stepmania editor (read the stickies or a tutorial on the SM website for a detailed explanation how to do this)

                5. Hit Escape while in the SM editor to bring up a menu. Select the Save option.

                6. Exit the editor and exit Stepmania.

                7. Go into your Works in Progress folder in Songs and find the folder with your song and .sm file in it.

                8. Use WinZip or Winrar to compress the folder into a .zip file or .rar file. Don't have the programs? Google them and install them.

                9. Upload the .zip or .rar to the FFR Simfile Database
                Quack quack quack
