    10 footer!

    Well, I finally beat my first ten footer today (Xepher, challenge), on a soft pad (one of the ones you get with the game) and I was wondering how much better I would get if I got a metal pad?

    I've been considering buying one and I want to know if it's worth it or not.

      A metal pad will help some but more with timing than pass speed. The only problems I have with most soft pads are (a)slippage (easy to fix) and (b) smaller buttons.

          xepher was one of my first 10 footers as well (b'd it on the konami soft pad about 3-4 months into ddr). get a metal pad and learn how to play flat footed. i've only played for about 10 months and can A all of the max's no problem (fc'd max 300 at the arcade last week with 25 greats) just because i learned to play flat footed and use the bar to my advantage. i bought just about the cheapest metal pad you can buy on amazon around christmas time and its still functionable (i feel that its time is almost up though) with all of the itg i play on it everyday. playing on a metal pad everyday will bring you to a whole different level, throw that soft pad in the garbage

                          Grats, and a metal pad is definitely worth it.

                          I would reccomend a Cobalt Flux.

                          Also the first 10 footer was Sakura heavy. It was easy ^_^
