One Piece, however, don't buy the English version, go get the Japanese version that was scanlated by fans.

One Piece is excellent however it is very very very long. I wouldn't suggest reading the manga because if you're completely new to the series, you will be very dissapointed. The introductory arc is mediocore at best and not worth your money. I would suggestwatching the japanese anime (with english subs) because Viz just did an excellent job there (except once again, introductory arc mediocore at best.)

I suggest Gainax's FLCL (Furi Kuri, also known as Fooly Cooly in the US.) The story is excellent in both the manga and anime; however, the english version of the anime is by far superb. Yes, that's right, the ENGLISH dub is better. Why? They actually hired actors who put in REAL feeling and emotion. Like I said, english version of FLCL is beyond amaing. The manga is also superb because of the storyline (if you're into the art, it's nothing TOO special but it's still pretty insane.)

Oh, man, don't get me started...too late. Dragonball/Z, Dot Hack//Legend of the Twilight, One Piece, Rurouni Kenshin, Naruto, Bleach, FullMetal Alchemist, Inuyasha, and Yuyu Hakusho are all pretty good(the manga versions, anyway. Don't be fooled by Viz and Funimation who took them all and made them into the childish, crappy animes). Go to Wikipedia and search any of those if you're interested. I have some manga scanlation links on my site, http://www.freewebs.com/chdprimary/ , if you don't feel like going out and buying them. If you DO buy them, though, it'll be money well spent. (>_<)
