This guide is if you are playing on an arcade pad or metal dance pad. The same will apply for a soft pad for the most part. So, you like DDR and/or In The Groove. But you need some help. No worries, psp31 is here to help. First things first, if when you play you run out of energy quickly, there are various solutions. The first solution is, use the bar. Who cares what people think if you use the bar, you just want to have fun(for the most part). It helps conserve energy, helps you keep your balance, and generally improves scores. Second, try to move your feet as little as possible. If you keep your left foot about in the middle or a little bit to the left of the middle of the left panel or the same for the right foot for the right panel, thats too far. Try to keep your feet a little bit closer to the center metal square in the middle of the pad. Try to keep your feet as close to the center metal square as possible but still be able to play. Third, move your feet as little as possible. This may be hard to learn but it helps tremendously. Like I said, keep your feet as close together as possible, doing this will help not moving your feet as much. There is no need to stomp or step hard depending on the condition of the pad(s) you are playing on. You just need to step lightly but enough that you can activate the sensor on the panel you are stepping on. Fourth, try to move your body as little as possible, just let your lower body do most of the work. When you twist your upper body too much to do some steps, that uses up energy you could save for tough parts of songs. Just move your upper body as little as possible, if you have to twist and turn, don't move your upper body a lot, just enough for you to do the step combination, remember, practice makes perfect. If there is a combination of jumps that you can't get down, such as (in In The Groove Step colors) a blue jump then a red jump and you can't get both correctly try cheating the jumps. The section of Delirium expert with the jump after jump after jump is a spot where people sometimes cheat the jumps. What I mean by cheat the jumps is instead of jumping, just do the two steps like it was one step then another. For example, a left-right jump. Rather then jumping, just step on the left panel then the right one quickly or the right panel then the left one quickly. If there are hands you can't do fast enough or can't stand up in time after doing the hand, try cheating them. What I mean is, instead of bending down to do the hand, just do the 3 or four steps quickly with your feet. For example, a Left Down Up hand. If you can't do the hand then do the next steps because you can't get up in time, just do the left down up steps quickly, like 1 2 3. Or, if a hand is at the end of a hold, just stay on the hold just move your foot and step on the panel with the hand then move quickly back to the panel with the hold. More to come as I learn more.
