    Re: Help with swooshes

do you mean almost like a wind sounding whoosh, or like when you fling a stick through the air really fast like a whish. lol

listen to the song i posted a few threads down
in the middle like 16 bars before the piano diddy, i used just a solid sound like a soft motor runing if you will, added some reverb a little phaser, and then played with the volume levels, and it sounds like a smooth wind. you could probably mess with somthing similar, and just make the volume levels alittle bit quiker, like a sweeping cresendo, and you could get your swoosh.

maybe that is a little to much work, i may have taken the long road. thats just what i came up with.

Or you could use a reversed crash or make a volume automation clip thinger.

i shoulda thought of that. i used a sound in a song a while back extremely simmillar to a revese crash, probably wasted like 20 minuets, lol.

Make an automation clip on the volume to change the volume during the song.

          I'm a music n00b so I don't know any terms or anything =D

Usually all types of sequencers allow you change the velocity of each note, since IIRC almost all sequencers still use the MIDI philosophy.

              You use Reason, right KgZ?

So say you're using a long Malstrom pad or something for your sweep. Just right click on the volume knob for it and click on "edit automation" or whatever it says.
