Re: What's Your IQ?
I'm 14 and I get really bored so that test almost made me fall asleep. In stopped it after quetsion 7. I did a few IQ tests before and I averaged 126 on them, so there's no point in boring myself again.Comment

Re: What's Your IQ?
I think you've just posted the most "fail" of threads in the history of "fail" threads.
Online IQ tests are worthless and mean nothing, along with the respected ones. It's the measure of one's ability to take an IQ test. And please don't bring up the multiple intelligences issue; everybody who actually cares knows it's a bunch of horse****.
My IQ, whether 60 or 170, has no bearing on my intelligence and cognitive abilities..

Re: What's Your IQ?
Actually, this test is based on Ravens APM, a standardized, professional IQ test you see used fairly frequently by psychologists. It's also used for admissions my many Mensa groups.
It is fairly safe to measure your IQ using this test. However, would I recommend any other online tests? No, none other than test the nation. People that think they know their IQ based on other tests have probably been duped. Tickle is a horrible example of an internet IQ test that is very inaccurate.
I scored 140. Though, since it's a near ceiling score I would say the score is unreliable. I scored 148 on the actual ravens APM test, which was 35/36 I think. Also too high to be reliable XD
IQ scores are fairly useful, but you have to take it within context. One thing the makers of this test arn't telling you about is the standard error. IQ is not an unfalliable measure. Generally, the standard error given the SD is about + or - 8 points from whatever you score. So if your IQ is 100 on this test that means with 95% confidence you'll score 92-108 if you are retested.
Research on fluid intelligence says that you're wrong. While there might be a test taking skill aspect to all tests that will influence your score somewhat, fluid ability on fluid questions has been shown to be pretty consistant across a persons lifetime and resistant to training. General consensus is that you can boost your IQ up to 15 points given you train seriously, but since I'm pretty sure you can boost your 'test taking' ability indefinitely there is more to it than that.Online IQ tests are worthless and mean nothing, along with the respected ones. It's the measure of one's ability to take an IQ test. And please don't bring up the multiple intelligences issue; everybody who actually cares knows it's a bunch of horse****.
I also find it funny that those that feel they're too smart for the test stopped while the questions are still purposely very very easy, since a score of 19 or 20 is average I think. Unless you're mentally retarded you're going to answer the first 10 very easily...lol. Good luck solving the last question~Last edited by Reach; 04-29-2007, 07:44 AM.
