    Capos or tuning

would you rather drop your tuning or use a capo? i mean a capo is handy if you're dropping it into one key, but it doesn't produce an as nice sound, but the speed of the process is so much morethan the other, and on the other hand if you drop tuning, you have the rich sound, to a point. But then again theres the argument that its harder on your strings, which is why i invested in some "super slinkies", and problem solved. Leaving me with an itching question... which one is better and why?

It's always been my opinion that if you have to capo or tune the guitar up, you can't really play the guitar. Just bar it you sissies.

well i've had that opinion myself too... but try telling rockstars that... especially when they drop tuning. how would you compensate for that when the official tuning is in drop d?

          Re: Capos or tuning

it's like this DJ, if you were playing an A5 in drop D instead of

          e-----------
          B-----------
          G-----------
          D---7-------
          A---7-------
          E---5-------

          you would play

          e-----------
          B-----------
          G-----------
          D---7-------
          A---7-------
          D---7-------

and in response to capos, I think they're a useful but only for an acoustic with thicker strings allowing you to keep the rich sound. Don't waste time using them on an electric. I found that out the hard way
