ITG and DDR same bpm but different speed

for some reason, whenever i put a song that is about 190 - 200bpm on x3 (equaling 600bpm) on ITG i can read and react to it just fine. but on DDR whenever i put max 300 on x2 (equaling 600bpm) i look and the screen and say WTF man. to me it seems that ITG and DDR have a different way of calculating bpm. / or am i just wierd and need to stop playing the game?

Beats per minute is just a universal way of telling how fast the song is, the songs bpm will always be the same. Ex: max300 is 300 on ddr, itg, if they decided to make a PIU whatever it would always be 300. The scroll rate on the screen of both games is clearly different if your using like ps2, but if you play on a ITG dedicab with the screen considerably bigger than a ddr machine its more or less the same.

so if i went to the arcade and played disconnected at x3 (equaling 600bpm) the scroll rate would be faster than if i was playing disconnected x3 on ps2 at my house?

I've noticed this before. On DDR I can only read up to about 500 or so but on ITG I can read up to 550. I don't know if there's any technical reason or if it's just that ITG noteskins are easier to read.

DDR's lifebar is at the bottom, blocking a portion of the scroll area. ITG uses more scroll area, and can be faster read.

The refresh rate on ITG Machines are higher then DDR machines.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who knows this.

I'm not sure if the actual scroll rate is faster but it would definately seem faster since the screen is way bigger.

Why would you want to do a song like Max 300 on 2x speed anyways?

lots of people do it on 2x, its spread out more and you can PA better if you know the song real well.

You can PA greatly if your timing is good. It doesn't matter how far apart the arrows are from eachother.

um thats a big negative, spacing the arrows out make it easier for ME to react and hit them on time better than doing it on slower speed. max 300 on x2 is a hell naw though cause aint no way i can read or remotely be on timing with the bs
