Why must people step popular songs?

Seriously? Is there a valid reason? It's not like they'll make good steps.
    Hip-Hop - Too damn slow.
Punk Rock **** - Too damn gay.
Emo **** - OH GOD WHY

If people want good steps for a song, don't set a random bpm and use ctrl+r with 64th snap. Either take pride in your work, get someone else to do it, or just don't release it. It's that simple.

The reason I'm making this thread is because I downloaded a Fall Out Boy file, and ended up killing multiple newborn kittens/puppies.

As of now, I'm gonna start taking requests for popular songs to step.

        You almost have problems.
I say this because yes, some of that random music is really retarded.
But some popular songs are popular because they're good.
        In before other people.

          Yeah, that is.
          Also a fairly long song.
Most of Opeth's songs are it seems. :P

Edit: "Fairly" is sarcastically stated. It's a long song.

I don't mind as long as the simfile doesn't outright suck, the style isn't hip hop, the voice of the singer doesn't piss me off, or (if it's metal) doesn't scream too much (Only really bad metal actually screams that much).

*found Deliverance on Youtube and listening to it. Surprised to find it's a full 13 minutes. O.O I think I like it.*

I like the song. Kinda gets slow and boring at parts, though.

              I like screaming in Metal.

Yeah, it could use some bigger picking up in thickness at parts. Too much small metal is simply boring unless very well done. You need it to be big at parts.

I like screaming too, but at strategic parts. There's gotta be some singing. Chop Suey is an excellent example in my opinion.

I guess I have discovered the reason why I like songs best at 3 minutes.

Hah, yeah, I don't know many people that know Opeth either.

Haha. That's pretty funny, I haven't been to many concerts but the Warped Tour last year and a couple of local ones here and there.

That is not a reason ton only find techno/house/anime/video game music ...
After all it depends of the songs you know. Try theese songs I know for many years, I think you don't.

I prefer have only 2% good steps of famous songs than only DJ-Idontknowwhooandidontcare or Mario mix or zelda or yugiho music etc. I am not a f***ing geek that like that kind of music ^^

                          lmfao music geek

what you've described is gabber/techno/house which mostly suck as music genres anyway

also topic became retarded due to everyone ITT not knowing any good constant bpm music

besides why would you want steps to music that you've already listened to? If you like the song, then who cares about how well known the song is anyway.

Isn't "what sucks in music genres" all a matter of opinion? IMO, I think gabba is too messy for me, but I like techno and house (FFR is devoid of house BTW), and I think they're often overlooked in today's "pop, rock, and hiphop" music. Their peak of popularity was probably in the 80s.
Popular music today I think is simply becoming overplayed, and thus becomes dull. But for people who really dig today's music, I don't see why they shouldn't step the songs they like.

                              Opeth's myspace alone has 120000 friends >_>

I was stepping deliverance once and then got bored of it and stopped. Then I was going to step The Baying Of The Hounds. I got bored and stopped.

Opeth is good, but lots of their songs aren't very interesting and get really repetitive. Other bands with longer songs like that such as Dream Theater are better since they have more interesting riffs and vocals and more variation in the song. I'd rather listen to Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence once (with is 42 minutes long or so) than listen to a few Opeth songs all the way through. I generally just listen to the first few minutes and then switch to the next song >_>
