    NES styles

How can I take a normal song and make it sound like a classic gaming tune. Is there some program for that??

Wasp isn't to bad at making 8bit sound. You have to fiddle with it a bit, but you easily get it.

Toxic3 is actually really, really good at 8bit type sounds.

Either that, or you can always run it through goat tracker, a commodore 64 based music production program.

Find a good bitrate reducing plug-in.

      WORKS WONDERS.

Also, it helps if you understand what kind of synthesis they had to use in classic gaming i.e only squares and creative pitch bending-LFOs, and white noise.
