    The Joys of the Flu

So, as of now, I'm completely miserable.

Late last year, October, I believe, I got the lovely thing known as the flu shot, pretty much eliminating my chances of getting the flu, or so the doctor claimed. Turned out I'm one of the "Lucky ones."
    According to the doc:

So, now I'm suffering in bed with a 102.5 fever, a throat that is the equivalent of the firey pits of Hell, a headache that could kill, and a good old fashioned stuffy nose.

On the good side, I have my Mudkip plushie, 3 boxes of tissues to blow my nose in, and The Office and MST3K to keep my attention away, since all the people who I usually talk to on AIM are at school.

Oh, and to make matters worse, I missed the TAKS test, a standardized test that's run in Texas. So, I'm going to get a lot of **** from the admins once I get back to school.

Anybody ever had any lovely experiences with the flu, besides myself?

I once had the flu as bad as you say for 2 weeks, now that was horrible, I still had to do school.

You have to try the Hayfever. You would want to kill yourself.

I wasn't aware we were talking about drugs O.o

I think I got the flu this year, but I don't know. I never went to the doctors to check, I just got some cough medicine. Also, I skipped out on the flu shot (just like the last 15 years of my life) so it probably was the flu.

I just got over the flu, but I couldn't blow my nose the whole time because of my septum ring. -_-

ITT we moan about illness. Since I gave up smoking 3 months ago I've had boarder line flu twice and like 4 colds. It's been horrible.

              Smoking is bad, mmkay?

Also, I haven't gotten a flu shot in years because, as far as I can tell, it's not really worth it. I haven't gotten sick sick in about a year I'd say.

                Yay ... another Texas-dweller.

You didn't miss much ... that test was absolutely horrid. It always is.

I'm assuming you're a sophomore? Essay/short answer responses suck ... Revising & Editing = 2 minutes worth, 100% confident I got them all right. Triplet (Expository, visual, etc.) took me about twenty minutes ... essay took like four hours ... lol. Two hours were spent daydreaming ... xD

By the way, I had the flu earlier this year too ... my advice would be to pump yourself full of carrots and tomatoes and vegetables and such. It got me better in a day and a half. Good luck with getting better!

I tried eathing a cherry tomato earlier and nearly screamed from the pain of the acidity.

Yeah, the make-up date is like... April. I would have gone and taken it, then gone to the doctors, but, I was like "**** this, I can't write feeling like this..."

Yeah, I couldn't write at all (though I DID go to sleep at 2 AM ...) ... so I just took forever ... haha.

But the eating vegetables wasn't too bad when I was sick considering I couldn't taste a thing ...

Meh, my sophomore year I was pretty sick for TAKS too, not the flu or anything but I felt like ****. I went anyways though, it's not worth going to school for an extra week or two. (Or atleast that's what we had to do)

The Mudkip plushie will make it all better. My Pichu one helped.
