    you know what bothers me?

    i have a wii and when i first got it i was talking to my friends on the bus and i was like.
    "the wii is really cool you guys should check it out sometime."
    and they would be like "the wii sucks!!" and they never even played it before. then they'd go on about the graphics compared the the ps3 and start saying how it has the blue ray thing or whatever and all this other stuff.
    but then later i got one of them over at my house and i let him play some sports and he was like "dude, the wii is awsome!" and now he's going to buy one in like a week.
    basically what really bothers me is the new generation of gamers are like "GRAPHICS, GRAPHICS, GRAPHICS!!" and they dont understand that its about the game play not about how good it looks. the graphics is just the icing on the cake.
    and fanboys who wont admit that other systems have something good going for them, let alone give the other system a try.

                  I hate when people degrade a game for its graphics. Sure, Square could have done a better job with Seymour's sleeves in FFX, but they were working with a slightly old system. You gotta cut them a little slack.

                  And FFX was a rather simple game anyway. The fun doesn't last too long, in my opinion. Sure the cutscenes are pretty and the storyline is wonderful, but the gameplay doesn't give much.

                  Now Disgaea. Disgaea was awesome! Sure it only used 3D graphics for the maps, but the reason why they used sprites and simple cutscenes was because the game engine was so colossal they could fry the PS2 if they used FFX graphics. They did a very good job with their limited graphics. The sprites look very good against the 3D worlds, and the mugshots used in the cutscenes are pretty.

                  If I were to design graphics for a videogame, I'd work on the GBA. Because I love sprites, especially isometric pixel art. And it's also easy. You don't have to spend a year of 3D rendering to create the good graphics. Not at all!

                          Every generation of mainstream console has its OMFG!! L1k n0 Gr4f1X!! LOL!!!1 system. People will always mock a system when they've never played it because of the promise of better graphics.

                          Master System -> Sega Genesis -> Sega Saturn -> Sega Dreamcast -> Nintendo Wii

                          Every single one of those were systems I had to routinely defend against idiots who never played them.

                              haha ive owned all of those.
                              but people see me as a young kid and say
                              "your a new gen gamer so you dont know anything about real games."
                              i might be a next gen gamer but i grew up with nes, snes, s-saturn, sgenesis, sCD, sdreamcast, GB, GBP, GBC, and everything else before that stuff because my parents had those things since before i was born.
                              so i still have "gamer roots" in me. so like you i defend those consoles all the time from fanboys.

                                  I never argue with anyone I hang around about consoles, seeing how they're open minded.

                                  Now, in public, I'm always being told to 'throw away my DS and get a PSP' (I'm the handheld person). If I wanted a PSP, I would get one. But I at least don't insult the PSP.

                                      It does? I thought there was first a game, and then an anime.

                                      I have both Disgaea games, and I've seen the first few episodes of the anime. I was a little annoyed to find that they changed the story around a little bit. I liked Vulcanus stealing Flonne's pendant better than Flonne simply dropping it.

                                                  It's because of what this new generation is used to. They're growing up with great graphics when the old generation didn't have such graphics, and relied on the gameplay. I hate the new generation.

                                                      i dont get the PS3. I dont think there was a point in making it. PS games came out to quickly as Nintendo games come out when there ready to come out. the 360 is ok. I went to a friends house and i thought it was awsome. I want the Wii though.
