Oh, How I ponder everyday about it.

Oh, how I ponder everyday about it.
I'm not talking about XBOX, Playstation, Ps2, Wii, 360, ps3. All of those game sytems cannot halt my craving for excellence, not even close. (Wii gets close )

I'm talking about the one and only... Sega Dreamcast. I want one of these so bad, its not
even explainable.. Oh wait it is.

Heres the story. I first saw one of these while I was in a game store in Canada (Visiting Uncle ), I think it was called BlockBuster, and the Dreamcast was on display all over the store (1999 at the time). Everyone was like WOAH DREAMCAST!. And then the moment of excitement happened.

The dreamcast "play booth" (Where you play the dreamcast in the store), was unoccupied, and I was the first to notice. So I rushed over there, and picked up the controller. Kinda felt awkward, but I got used to it fast, and the controller was comfortable. SoI played Sonic adventure, and at that time that was good graphics! (Still is, in my eyes).

Sonic Adventure was superb, I was running fast, collecting rings, dodging enemies, and fighting bosses. I was in total awe as, this was like AMAZING!.

Not to mention the name.. Dreamcast, it rolls off the tongue nicely, and playing it seemed like a dream, indeed. I sat there and played for hours and hours on end, playing. Then a store employee came by and told me it was time for me to get off, and then I relized I was only playing for about 30 minutes, and people were getting mad.

I asked my Uncle like 10000000 times, to buy this for me, but at the time he didn't have any cash, or time to go look for one.

Now its 2007, Around 8 years since the dreamcast first released. I've been thinking about it on and off this whole time, and just relized I don't have one of my own. Wow.

Like, through all the years, it stuck in my head... No game system has ever had that effect on me. Not even the Wii.

Like the dreamcast was ahead of its time as it was able to output true 640x480 VGA, and, with certain games, even 16:9 widescreen at 720x480 (480p60 EDTV), which was new and hardly ever heard of back then, and it even had ONLINE!

People say the Dreamcast is dead, but thats not true, as a few games just got released, and Phantasy Star servers are free forever now, IGN has a dreamcast section thats updated alot..

So here I leave you, whats your thoughts about the Dreamcast?
    (*cough* I want one!)

It is BlockBuster, a very well known game rental store.

Also, you were in total awe*. I think that's how you spell it.

Also, yeah, a Dreamcast is a great system, in my opinion. I want one too, but not badly enough to get one on Ebay.

No problem. I'd imagine English isn't your first language, so I'd be glad to help out anytime.

But anyway, yeah, I've heard many great things about the Dreamcast, and I loved playing it over at my friend's house. I may get one someday.

I found some on ebay for cheap, so I may pick up a Europe one there.
I hope. It will be my most glorious day if I get one.

Even emulators cannot satisfy my hunger, as they dont work, and are too hard to figure out. Not to mention theyre not tasty.

Most of the good games were ported to Gamecube.

Not to say it wasn't a good system. The add-ons onto that controller were sick. It's just that it might be better to get a Gamecube instead. Or, why even bother? You have a Wii, so buy the Gamecube ports and put them in.

You dont understand. I love this console. And those games were never ported to GC here in Moscow.

And also, nothing will come close to what the dreamcast had and still does.
The Dreamcast has PHANTASY STAR ONLINE! and its not the crappy GC one. Its AMAZING. Especially since they made the servers free .

You shouldn't say nothing will ever come close. What if they made a Dreamcast 2 and you loved it more? What if you just like a Wii more? Have you ever even played a Wii? I haven't, and I doubt you have. I've never even seen one in front of me with my own eyes.

By the way, Ikaruga has now been ported to Xbox Live Arcade.

So, there's one huge title from the Dreamcast era that's been modernized.

Heck, it makes me want to pop in my hard-earned GCN Ikaruga and crush on Hard. Again.

He has a Wii. I mail him stuff.

PS. The Dreamcast was so under rated. I don't understand why, with all the awesome games it had as well. ****ing Sony.
