    Trying some new style

    Enjoy Starcraft much?

So I was watching some Korean Starcraft videos (which are INSANE by the way) and I got an idea about a tune.

I haven't touched mastering much at all, though I'm working with a new method for compressing my drums. ****, this song is probably like 25% done, if even.

I definitely have little experience when it comes to making breaks like this, and my sampling/slicing/graining techniques are pretty sloppy. Let me know what you guys think though.

Cool, even though you might want to consider fixing the link.

Keep working on it, dude, you'll get that authentic drill n bass feel eventually. =)

I know that from my trancey style, I'm used to placing loops that repeat, and that I need to get into like slicing my drums as one single loops against the entire song. But aside from that, what else is missing? When I go to work on this I have like an Overseer or Tech Itch concept of music in my head, though I'm not sure if I'm hitting the nail very accurately.

Don't be afraid to do some stereo panning with your breaks. Distortion, pitch bending, and the like are great ways to keep the percussion interesting.

Wow, I just realized the song was repeating in my winamp. I can't take it at all and usually notice it repeating right away. It loops amazingly well.
That's cool Mario, but how come whenever you eat mushrooms, everything gets bigger but your dick?

                That's hot.

The primary arp you use sounds like it goes sharp at certain points, but, other then that, great stuff. Those sequenced drums are awesome.

Oh, and for some reason, the pad near the end needs to be... I guess...
I want to say prominent, but even then that's not the right word.

Shox, I'm well aware of that, but it just really easy to say "master your levels a little more" rather than "balance the volume better", since "mastering" for me also means making sure the right frequencies are coming through at the right level.

EDIT: Oh yea, and the Acid installation that I had tried always crashed on startup.

Oh you mean through windows update? I hope that they allow me to access that update, the whole legitimate windows thing is a serious pain in the ass.
