This book is unbelievably great. I'm recommending it to anyone and everyone. It's a science fiction novel by Larry Niven. Has anyone else read it?

I was planning on explaining the plot, but it might spoil something. Plus it's ****ing confusing. Took me till about chapter 3 to figure out what the **** was going on.
In very general terms, it's about evolved humans living in a free-fall environment around a neutron star. They live in trees that are shaped like integral signs. A group of humans from one of the integral trees goes out in search of food for their "tribe" because they are dying of starvation, but as they go on their journey, the integral tree they came from is destroyed and the rest of their clan dies. The rest of the book is mainly about how the group survives and where they end up, and there is a large battle near the end of the book when they are fighting for their freedom from the "copsik runners" or the slave drivers (which is the part at which I'm at now).
I haven't read a lot of books in my time, but this by far is the best one I have ever read. I'm planning on looking for more books by the same author in the future.
