does anyone here know any good books for violin that you can buy that have cool solos or something
btw who here is a violin player? i've been playing for 3 years myself
Some Suzuki books are fine. I personally like 4 and 6 the best. I've been playing violin for 8 or 9 years now. I have this one book I really love but it's in German so I doubt it's very popular in the US, but it has Bach's Partita no. 2 in D minor. That whole thing is for solo violin. The Gigue and the Ciaccona are pretty good.
Gahh I hated the Suzuki books. Thats why I switched to double bass. But yeah they are good. Also try going to a local music store and see what they reccomend. If they are any better than the ones around my area (which in most cases they are) you should be able to get something good. Now I don't know if you guys have a solo festival like NY does but if you do ask your music store manager for some level 5 and 6 stuff. It'll hurt but most of it is really fun.
