Re: New Transformers Trailer
Wouldn't play the first time...
So I went over to Youtube. This seems like the same thing, only better.
Based on the trailer, I would say that the movie will be a standard crappy plot but impressive visuals type of movies. Probably will still be worth seeing just for that though.

Re: New Transformers Trailer
I would actually like to see it.
When I saw the preview for it, I thought it was just another cliche action movie...until the end and it showed the transformers "logo." It does have great visuals as Afrobean said, and it does look pretty actiony. I bet it'll be interesting.

Re: New Transformers Trailer
They're taking a lovely children's star and warping him to adult-style theater, nothing that hasn't been done before *hackcoughsamraimihackcough*
Judging by the trailer, the movie will most likely be primarily based on the humans with the transformers, not the transformers themselves. For some reason, I have a feeling they shot themselves in the foot with that decision.
Don't get me wrong though, I'm still going to see it.Last edited by Starshot; 12-27-2006, 09:29 AM. Reason: I spelled Sam Raimi's name wrong ;>_> ; Happy, Afro?Comment

Re: New Transformers Trailer
I think that they'll be going the right way with focusing on humans rather than the autobots here.
You can't really humanize giant alien robots, even if they've come to Earth to defend it from another set of giant alien robots.
First person that mentions Iron Giant gets a big fat slap in the face.
ps what's with the jab at Sam Raimi? And "couch"?

Re: New Transformers Trailer
He adapted a couple of issues of the comic books. The Saturday Morning Cartoon was harmless, but in the comic books, people died, alternate dimensions opened, people were hurt regularly... I mean, the reason people like it is because it's a relativley faithful adaptation of the source material, not because 'it's dark and grownup.'
And wasn't the original Transformer movie really dark, too? I mean, they killed off a bunch of the transformers, didn't they? That would be devestating to a child."A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor
My new novel:
Maledictions: The Offering.

Re: New Transformers Trailer
Ya, the original transformers movie was pretty dark. Optimus dies and Hot Rod becomes Rodimus Prime because he got the matrix (I think). Some others die too but I haven't seen it in about two years. Spike's dad says "****" in it. Unicron was freakin cool, he's by far the best toy just cause he's huge. Megatron dies and turns into Galvatron.
Good movie.
ps.
Bumblebee and Brawl

and Blackout, the helicopter decepticon

Re: New Transformers Trailer
Oh damn, this looks like a serious movie. I thought it would be a movie for the kids like the animated tv series. The antagonist (looking) machines look like they mean business, and they're not going to challenge some one to a race on another planet for a crystal.Comment
