How do the good FFR'ers put there hands on the keyboard?
I want to become a better FFR player and I know that the first step in becoming better is to use 2 hands. I know that you use your right hand on the keypad and your left on the arrow keys. But how exactly do you put it on? I watched Shash play some songs on Youtube and he was incredible but I'm not exactly sure how he put his hands on. Oh and please only tell me if you DO use 2 hands.

rest like the edge of ur hands, like were ur wrists are on teh table or w.e (this is wut i do) and left index on down arrow key, left middle finger on left arrow key, right index finger on "8" on keypad for up, right middle finger on "6" on keypad for right, and just play like that, exactly like u would in fourfingered play, but its spread out so easier, i rest my hands and my fingers do all the work and my fingers are ok at speed, but if a jack is too fast for my fingers i lift and smack it up/down fastLast edited by krazykhalid; 12-19-2006, 06:39 PM. -

i started this not that long ago but im doing masters only songs and challenging and hings like that and all i do is:
put my left middle finger on the left button
put my left index finger on the down button
put my right middle finger on the right button
put my right index finger on the up button
this works for me and i hope it does to u 2Comment

I use one......but in those songs like......flight of the bumble bee I break out the spread. It gives the bread a different taste.Comment

I don't think it's humanly possible to even FC some of the songs on FFR with one hand. In fact I'm sure of it.
Which is a shame because I've used one hand for the past 9000 games.
To hell with learning a new style of play after all that, my best scores are my best, I don't care about average or whatever.
But yeah...... two hands is the way to go.Comment

This is just preference, but my fingers most commonly in use are:
left arrow: third finger on my left hand
down arrow: index finger on my left hand
up arrow: third finger on my right hand
right arrow: ring finger on my right hand
Don't forget to use any other fingers to your best comfort. For one hand, I use a totally different setting.Comment

I'm a big one hand, four finger. Then again, I have a nice keyboard that allows me such things. It's nice. I use all fingers but my pinky.
Left: index
Up: Middle
Right: Ring
Down: ThumbComment

My setup is two fingers on the arrow keys and two on the numpad. I'm not very fast though. Index was a lot faster for whatever reason.Comment

LMAO I am finally using 2 hands for the really hard songs. I was never able to beat Exciting Hiper Highspeed Star with one hand but I finally beat it with 2. Then I tried Alpha Helix and died. LMAO. =)Comment
