    Ensiferum - Ensiferum (Album)

    So, anyone else likes Ensiferum? Personally, I think they're amazing. I'm not so much a fan of growling vocals, but those in this band are... beautiful! They're angry, hateful, yet they sound nice, not like someone vomitting their dinner. The melodies are really good, although a bit repetitive (I'v taken the (bad) habit of counting the number of times a riff comes back in a song, since I've started composing). I just love this album as a whole, the melodies are very energetic but also have some despair in them, which is a very interesting feeling for music (especially metal). I hear a lot of folk influences too, which is great, because I love this kind of music.

    Overall it's an awesome album, heck, an awesome band (They've got 2 albums).

      Yeah, a mate gave me their albums ages ago along with stuff like Finntroll and Borknagar. Great band, viking metal in general is awesome. If you like them then also check out Enslaved (heavier version) and Moonsorrow (better band in general).

          Wow.. they have an album composed of only two songs.. which last 30 and 26 minutes. That's pretty much win.

              That album isn't even out until next month haha. How in the hell did you get it so early, or maybe I just haven't looked yet.

              Moonsorrow > Ensiferum > Enslaved.

              In case you were wondering on my actual view.

              Also, best Moonsorrow album (I've only heard two) is Kivenkantaja.

              Best Enslaved album is "Frost".

              Best Ensiferum album is "Iron".
