So I've gone completely slack-ass and haven't done any work on creating games. =(
In less-depressing news, I got a job for an online business (which sells non-electronic games, of all things!) which has taught me a lot about marketing online and all that jazz.
So now I'm on Twitter @NoahWright.
And I write the blog for their website.
Plus I do cool programming in-house that you'll never see. =O -

Better than being in the other side of the courtroom.
There's a way out of jury duty. Say psychological trauma will affect your decision. Or bring a form from your parents that says you're crazy. -

I had jury duty earlier this year. Since it was in the middle of the school year I used my one delay to push it to the summer.
They ended up canceling it later because, in going home for the summer, I had moved out of the courthouse's region.
Owned.

i was summoned twice to jury duty during college... got out of it both times for being a student out of state.

Eh? I got summoned, but since I was in an institution of higher learning I was exempt. No pushing back or anything, just plain got out of it.
EDIT (Tass ninja'd): I'm a student in state and that's all I needed...
I will serve some time, though.

Why couldn't this thread be posted a few months ago? I had a project on finding people who were called to do jury duty/who served on a jury and what they thought of it and stuff.

Dress like you just got out of bed (don't groom or anything), walk in looking half alseep, and whenever there's a case with a black or hispanic guy, say things like "oh, one of them" or "those kind are always causing problems."

Well I haven't gotten out of it because I haven't gone to the courthouse or anything. They had a number on the summons I had to call and make sure they need me, and I called it, but it was completely automated. Recording said everybody with juror numbers between 1 and 144 (I think 144? Can't remember, but 12*12 = 144, and that'd make sense) had to show up for jury briefing at 9am. My juror number = 88
Hopefully at this briefing they'll find out that I'd miss classes and work and that they're ruining my life with this crap. I'll at least miss my lab (whoohoo once a week thing that I'll have to find a replacement to attend -___-) which is in the morning, so that already sucks. I think people should have to sign up as wanting to be jurors and they should pull those people first so that fewer people who hate jury duty have to do it.

EB, they always call for more people than they need. If they need 50, they call 75. Something like that.

This is what you do to avoid jury duty:
-Answer questions the prosecuter doesnt favor. (Yes, I have driven drunk. I do it all the time.)
-Answer questions the defendant doesnt favor (No I have not driven drunk. I've lost a family member to drunk drivers.)
