Reasons:
A) The scoring system
The scoring system in regular DDR has a way where it takes the number of arrows in the song, and has a designated number of points for each arrow, and its combo so the formula is number of notes in the song / rating points x combo.
B) Missed? WTF IS MISSED?
You NEVER get points off for hitting the wrong arrow, only for not hitting the right arrow. There is no such thing as deducted points.
C) Rating at the end
You usually get your statistics and also your letter rating. AAA if you get all perfects, AA if you get all combo, A, B, C, D, and E if you fail.
D) Step Ratings
The step ratings in DDR are- Perfect, great, good, almost, miss, and boo. Also, you only get combos for getting perfects and greats and nothing else.
E) Groove Meter
In this, you get one circle down if you get a "Missed". In DDR you get a certain ammount of your groove meter down for your rating. Almost, miss, and boo all deduct from your groove meter.
F) BPM
You should learn how to program your songs to go at their true BPM (beats per minute if you didn't know). All the songs stay at the same speed in this. I know it might be hard in flash but learn how to do it.
G) Difficulty Ratings
In DDR there is Basic(Light-6th Mix), Trick(Another-earlier mix, Standard-6th Mix), and Maniac(Heavy-6th Mix) You should program different ratings.
H) Foot Ratings
You could do hand ratings/finger ratings because in DDR each song has a "foot rating" for how difficult it is. The songs can be from 1 - 10 feet, 10 being the hardest.
I) Different Arrow Colors
Depending what beat a arrow is on its color changes 1/4-Red 1/8-Blue 1/12 (I think)- Yellow and 1/16- Blue.
J) Splits
The splits never count unless you hit them at the same time.
These are all the differences I can find for now.
