Is one-handed play useless in later songs?

I've been playing FFR for a little while now and I'm now to the point where there are up and down arrows rapidly repeating. Should I go to two hands since my middle finger can't keep up? If so, can you suggest good keys to put for each arrow?

Spread is better, regardless. However, for up and down trills, I used to turn my hand side-ways and use my index and middle, respectively.
    Hey, I'm a pro-amateur smash player.

        quick answer: yes.

long answer: play however you want to play.... but if you want to compete with the top players and have top100 scores consistently and AAA tons of stuff... you probably will need to switch to some 4-finger variant.

I think he's one handed, T0ra. Thus, two finger trill is easier than one ;p

And unless you decide to become godly (at FFR) like korny you won't be able to compete with most players.

I remember one day back when I used to play one hand I was playing Stepmania and there was an up,down stream and by natural instinct I took out my left hand and nailed the stream using index. A few months later I was playing "For FFR" and the left, down, up, right stream near the beging of the song scrolled up. Once again, I changed my style within an instant by placing my middle fingeres on teh left and right arrows and fc'ed the stream. Because I have a laptop, I cannot use the traditional left, down, 8, 6 spread. Scottish told me about hotkeys and I learned my own spread: z,x,<,>, you might laugh but I personally have tried the left, down, 8, 6 and don't think it is anywhere as good as the z,x<,> because you have to tilt your right hand to the left to place your fingers on the 6 and 8 keys. You can force your hand straight but then you would have to raise your middle knuckle which isn't as comfortable as having your fingers lined up. To sum this all up, sometimes time is the only teacher. Things will come to you with practice

I have a retarded style. I use left index on the left arrow key and my right index, middle and ring finger for down up and right respectively.

Its not useless, There are several very good one handers but they're few and far between. Off the top of my head good FFR one handers Korny DarkManticorex2, and CJ_leonie. But for every one of them theres probably 10-20 other one-handers that should probably switch to another play style. Its a style that is real hard to get good at. If you ever want to be godly at FFR go spread It's the quickest way to get good.

Korny is the only one-hander who is particularly good at FFR. Manti and CJ are ok too.

Basically, if you aren't one of those people, switch ASAP.

TK Killer is also a hacker.

                        And also banned.
