Klung Kung re-synced! How about last firstborn?

If synth was able to re-sync Klung kung couldn't he re-sync last firstborn too?

Cause that would make last firstborn cool instead of uber offsync gay.

Resyncing Klung was done as a test to find the right offset change for ALL files that are to put in FFR, not just for the sake of resyncing it.

Plus Klung is a new song, so resyncing it doesn't make all the old highscores worthless, like it would if you resynced older songs.

To be honest, I don't follow your reasoning. If, as you say, you've found the way to determine the offset on FFR from a dwi file, you could use it on all songs, being them new or otherwise.

So how would changing the gap on an offsync file make its highscores worthless, if the file wasn't even played the way it was supposed to be?

Also, how does appearing on the high score list for some dozen people, some of which don't even play anymore compare to fixing a song for everyone who plays FFR?

People have pride in their scores on offsync songs. If the songs are synced properly, a AAA will be much easier.

        As for this:
If, as you say, you've found the way to determine the offset on FFR from a dwi file, you could use it on all songs, being them new or otherwise.
No. I'm pretty sure the older songs don't even have dwis (the very first songs) and unless I'm mistaken, if there is a dwi for most of the other older songs, only Synth has them.

Screw their pride, if they're so good they should be able to get the same score on the song when its synced up.

-We don't have the original files to resync them.
-HSing offbeat stuff is a skill, so those who have whored out poorly converted songs would get no recognition for their efforts because the lsit would be flooded with easy AAAs.

I find this very hard to believe, why would the files be deleted after being converted to FFR?

Again, why should the achievements of a few people be more important than getting the file fixed for everyone? Personally, I can play offsync files just fine (my klung kung pre-sync and silence high scores come to mind), but would enjoy the file a lot more if it was synced properly.

The difference is Last firstborn's steps are all right on the money, but they're a second or more too late. The starting gap is off. It isn't something like funk in g or terror from beyond where you would need to re-step the whole thing. All you would need to do is roll back the music approximatly one second and it would be on sync.

The files will be fixed eventually, but the point is that it's not of pressing importance right now. The reason Klung was resynced was that it was the newest file, and all synced files were coming out a bit off (see Strangeprogram), so we wanted to fix the problem so it wouldn't happen to any of the newer files.

I'll ask Synth about it anyway though. Heck, I certainly wouldn't mind some of the files that just have bad gaps (Last Firstborn, Silence, Wish, Strangeprogram, EHHS, and Lethal Injection off the top of my head) getting fixed pre-3rd style.

So are we talking about gap or badly done converting (like TfB, SSSG, etc)?

Re: Klung Kung re-synced! How about last firstborn?

Don't know if it is possible... for any of the old files...

For whatever reason, the dwi's ARE missing... and I don't know if it is possible to mess with the syncing without the dwi.

I also don't know which songs are missing the dwi's... aka, how far back it goes.

                      *shrugs*

And moreso, these files have been the same way for well over 3 years (almost 4 for a lot of them)... vs Klung that was around for 1 week. Don't expect changes to the files that have 300k+ different scores on them to change now.

AND... there are more pressing things for Synth & Crew to work on. Much bigger things. Lots of really cool things... believe me, you'd rather they work on these awesome new things than something small and relatively trivial like re-syncing songs that have been the way they are for almost 4 years.

Because a nameless ex-fiancee was being a stupid **** and deleted them from the computer. It's always been a hope that someone else had my dwi files.

They need to re-sync silence as well.

I have your Mega Man 2:Dr. Wily Theme #1.

Then again, I imagine lots of people do considering how I got it.

Anyway, I'm sure there is a way to convert the FFR file into a dwi, or at the very least, generate an image of the stepchart which can be used to restep the song from scratch, maintaining the same patterns.
