How do I get a .rar file on stepmania?

    How do I get a .rar file on stepmania?

    I tried to download a .rar file from the simfiles on this site. It's supposed to go on Stepmania...

    but it led to Windows Media Player instead. I looked around a bit for help, but nothing seemed to work. Could you guys help please?

      .Rar is the same as .Zip. You unzip it and stick the folder (that has the .sm, .mp3, banner and background etc in it) in your songs folder in stepmania.

          I'm posting this here because I'm not allowed to private message since I'm "under 13"

          But I have one more problem..

          It doesn't even have a folder, it's just this music file

              Then it isn't a stepfile. If it only has a music file then all you have is an .mp3.

              What's the problem then?

                  It was on the simfiles, so I assumed it would be complete..


                  But meanwhile it was just an mp3 so I wondered if I did something wrong or something along those lines,
                  because as far as I know it should've had a folder with the background and everything.

                      If the .rar had only an mp3 and nothing else then all you got was an extra potential entry for your music playlist.

                          Haha. Thanks, I pretty much thought I really was doing something wrong.

                          Besides I already have that song on my playlist :P
