    Music making programs?

I'm interested in making my own music.. what programs do you guys recommend? Note if they're free or not, please.

I was told to ask over in this section, from the newbie section.

Thanks in advance for any help

I've orchestrated pieces for my Symphonic band class, using Sibelius. It's not very good when it comes to techno/dance music, though. Most of the sounds on it are orchestra instruments.

But, yes. I have music composing background.

I've used buzzmachines (http://www.buzzmachines.com) for a little over two years now. I'm happy with it.

                Thanks a lot, guys..

I've heard of some of these, such as Fruity Loops and Buzz Machines

I'll try these out, thanks again.

                    I recommend
                    DIGITAL PERFORMER (by MOTU)

it's pricy, but you'll be making tracks like Epidermis in no time.
CVSYM: pay $100 at the Apple store
                    jet88: never!
jet88: there's got to be a torrent or something

                      Re: Music making programs?

I'm a Buzz user myself, personally, but I'm just a little curious as to where I can get more machines and effects for Buzz, especially drum machines and anything good for drill 'n' bass.

If the answer is "good luck" or something like that, then I'll try out another one of these programs and see if any of those are things I want, I guess.

                        Re: Music making programs?

FL had some good tracks on it but it was too confusing. Where can I go to get Buzz? I really want to make some music to add on, but I need a good music maker. Even if I am not able to post or have it added, I still would like to make some music I can listen to and say, "I made that."

If FL was confusing to you, I honestly doubt that Buzz will succeed with you.

Yeah I've been using fruityloops for about 4 years now and once you get to know pretty much everything about the program, it has alot of limits on what you can do. I've recently got buzz and I'm gonna see if that takes me anywhere new.
