There's going to be some major changes to the storyline.
First, the timeline is a tad different. No longer does the novel take place two weeks after the initial invasion, but a month and a half. The survivors have SURVIVED.
It's on the whole going to be darker. Still going to have some funny moments, but on average, it's going to be much more serious and grim.
Removal of the zombification. That plot wasn't really going anywhere. Instead, the Melder is just going to control people per-usual, but it's going to slow the people down and make them zombie-like.
At one point the car gets stolen and the group has to go on foot.
Michael Gettings is no longer euthanized; he kills himself by hurling himself in front of the car as it is speeding away.
The group comes across the fantasy adventurers on another occasion, helping save them.
It's going to focus more on the group instead of having random vignettes on other parts of the world like the first draft.
I should have the first chapter done at some point tomorrow.
