    Lady In The Water

I really, really, really, really, really enjoyed the movie. It was an excellent departure from most films coming out these days, putting together an interesting (but somewhat uncompelling) story with a band of characters that are often times laugh out loud funny.

But this movie is not for everyone. No, no, no.

It's a fantasy movie. No one asks why, they take it for face value. And if you go in expecting everything to be explained away, good luck to you, this isn't the movie.

I mean, what other movie could have the characters saying, "Narf, scrunt, tarturic" and "Eatlon" in the same breath with straight faces?

    It's a fairy-tale.

    8/10.

    Re: Lady In The Water

In all honesty, I hated it. I came in expecting a horror film and all I got was three monkeys raping a dog. Though it might just be thinking this because I was expecting the girl I was seeing it with to jump all over me during a "scary" scene. >_>

Which is why I posted this. It isn't ISN'T IS NOT a scary film. It's marketed as such, but you think people would have learned after "The Village" wasn't scary and marketed as such that it's possible to market things incorrectly.

It was a fairy tale. And as such, I loved it.

I hadn't watched "The Village" nor had I known that this was a M. Night Shamylan movie. We just watched it because there was nothing else really playing at that time.

I, too, did not like this movie.

I loved how the characters are all related and the other thinking aspects of it.

But this movie did not do it for me at all. It was slow moving IMO and had a very anticlimatic ending.

But I do see how some could like it.

The only good part was the gangbanging of the dog.

            Errr, scrunt.

i hate it when previews of a movie make it look like its scary but the actual movie is far from scary.

The Preveiws where put in such a way that all the action was in 30 seconds.

                  However, I loved this move.

Compelling characters, and wonderful script, not too much gore and violence, not too fantastical that we are like O RLY.... The elves will decend from Amon-Ra and take the Shells of Omar Del Chezze and summon the Realzu from Tanlatutic. Well, there was a little of that.

                  I enjoyed the director's cameo.

Well, it was more than a cameo. But I think he did an amicable job with the role.

ps. Does Lady in the Water have a twist ending?

Heh, I think the only real twist was the guy turned out to have a pussy role(healer) in her life and not a bad ass one(gaurdian) like he thought he did.

Actually, he's a fairly big part in the movie.

And no, but he does do the standard thing where he sets up characters and little things early on that come into play later in the movie. That's one thing he's really, really good at.

None of M. Night Shamylans movies scare me. Except I thought of the commercial for this movie when I was putting the solar cover on my pool at 11 p.m. and it freaked me out.

I probably won't go to see this one. Not because I thought it would be a horror movie, it's because I don't want to see it.
