    Aw man, why does Stepmania have to be so crashy/freezy

    It seems like it halts abruptly any time I

    1. Mouse over the window by mistake
    2. Hit F1 by accident during playback in edit/sync song or hit F1 and esc at the same time
    3. Sometimes when I'm opening up another program while SM is running

          Uninstalled that ages ago, it added onto the list by making Stepmania crash whenever it tried to play a simfile with a video in it.

              exact reason I got rid of mine. But I have no clue then. Have you tried re'dling?

                  Did you guys try the latest CVS release? Maybe they fixed it. I nevre have any of the problems you're having...

                  and I'm playing it on an IBM T21. (which, in case you didn't know, sucks. horribly. only 8 megs of integrated video ram, and it's an S3 video card. It SUCKS.)

                          It's not freezing up. F1 is Reload Metrics and Textures.

                                  Huh. Well, it's F1 in 3.95 rc3/4.

                                  Anyway, everything you said can be explained by the fact that Stepmania is just a very CPU-intensive program.
