    I just got DDR yesterday *moans in pain*...

    And learned two things:
    1-I SUCK
    2-playing for 6 hours trying to improve your skills can make your legs hurt really bad. Even this morning as i type they hurt! *moans*

    BUT one good thing came out of all of that : I can actually do standard now... but i still suk. any tips would be great. and i didnt put this in the newbie forum because thats for FFR, not DDR.

    Practice, practice, practice. As you consistently play, songs that at the moment exhaust you gradually become less tiring on your feet.

    Also, don't play for 6-hours staight. take some breaks in between.

      Everyone sucks when they first start playing. Keep practicing, take breaks, and challenge yourself by playing harder songs than you're used to every now and then.

        You got sore from playing beginner/light/standard?
        Anyway, practice and take time to learn the basics which will lead you in heavy mode. Learn crossovers and to move around the pad even if it means with your back turned twoard the screen. It seems weird at first, but it'll help you hit arrows without having to double step.
        Also, take breaks, stretch, and drink lots of water.

          That would be the micro-tears in your muscles. It's a good thing, but you should rest them for the day to give it time to heal. You'll end up stronger.

            thanks guys. that'll really help me out. just yesterday i played from nine o' clock in the morning to 7 o' clock at night. I actually used common sense this time like : drinking fluids, wearing socks, taking 2 or 3 breaks, and taking a showing LOL. I usually play online on DDR Extreme 2. my user iz Go_Go_Afro. you might see me sometime. Well, thanks again. u were a real big help.
