    Saikano

It's been a while since I've seen such a heart-wrenching anime. I haven't seen many outside of End of Evangelion. However, Saikano.... Saikano takes it to a whole new level. I've never felt this attached to characters since Onegai Teacher and Love Hina. I had the oppurtunity to watch the entire series plus the ending OAV to the series. It tore me apart. Any other feel the same way?

Hey, I'm not going to bash your blantant comment because we all have our own preferences. I'll admit from an artistic viewpoint that the story is way convoluted, the animation isn't great shakes, and the english dubbing is pretty bad. It's the presentation and the WAY they did the anime that makes it so hard to watch. The series doesn't get boohooey until about Episode 8 or 9.

How could you get attached to the characters when they all died? Horribly at that?

First show to have me utterly disgusted to the point that I could no longer eat my delicious dinner. I'm amazed I saw it through. Maybe I was hoping something would actually happen.

          What Kefit said.

I don't think I even finished this, and the only detail I vividly recall is absolutely hating the OP/ED.

Squeek, I know you're not talking about people horribly dying in Saikano are you? You obviously must have not seen Elfen Lied or Gantz. The way people die in those shows takes it to the extreme.

              Re: Saikano

I think he's just making fun of the show, clearly based on his distaste for the genre. Most of the people who watch anime from ffr have radically different tastes than I do, which is why I rarely talk about any of it with them.

However, Saikano was an amazing series (I watched it way way back, but I still consider it one of my favourites), and if you like it, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of it.

Also, if you liked Saikano, you'll like KGNE (Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien). If you haven't already, check it out.

                Oh.

                So getting nuked to death.

                By your friend's girlfriend.

                Totally not gruesome.

                Not at all.

PS - I have seen Elfen Lied. Oh boo hoo some nobody gets killed by Nyuu big deal. He was, as I said, a nobody. I don't think anyone important died in Elfen Lied.

Hey, it was like Chise said, "They all died in a flash." I would rather die without feeling pain then have to go out like the way Tetsu and Akemi did. At least Atsushi didn't feel anything. =/
