Re: Dune
Dude don't get me started on Dune. It's so frikkin awesome. I've read ALL the books including the 6 prequels written by Frank Herbert's son, Brian, along with Kevin J. Anderson.
I LOVE Dune, I also believe it SHOULD have the popularity of The Lord of the Rings, and in my opinion it is better. It's The Lord of the Rings for science fiction writing, I should say. I also think it is kind of overlooked, much like The Sword of Truth series of books by Terry Goodkind.
Frank Herbert was a damn fine writer and I'm sad that he's dead, although his son carries on his books. Some hardcore Dune nuts hate the prequels, but I myself still enjoyed them even though I read the originals first. Brian Herbert did alot of research in the timelines and plot twists, and they (the prequels) turned out damn good.
I even frikkin wrote a essay on Dune for a college paper assignment. I LOVE DUNE. I think my style of writing somewhat reflects Frank Herbert's. I LOVE DUNE.Corruption wears infinite disguises.

Re: Dune
Dune is ass-kicking awesomeness, but I tried to read the rest of the books, and...Well, God Emperor of Dune was just too much stuff and not enough action. Dune is the best of the series, and you're best off stopping there.Comment
