No sound No luck!

Well folks im not having this problum but My girlfriend is

My gf says that stepmania will not even start laoding up right when she clicks on the icon to go run the program it says somthing like "program could not be initialized because there is no sound" and yes her speakers do not work but is that realy a big deal its like oh you dont have any speakers well im sorry you cant play...does anyone know if this is a rpoblum im pretty sure she has 3.9 sm but i never know could it be stepmania.com is being a little bitch???

if it says she has no sound its not that her speakers dont work its reading that she ahs no sound card i would be guessing but it should still work to the ebst of my knowledge go get 4.0 from www.stepmaniaonline.com see if that will fix the problem i ahve no other suggestions other than that
