Soul Link: Anyone else following this series?

So I decided that I would follow an anime series as it comes out, week by week (a first for me) and decided on this one.

It's not a long series, only scheduled for 12 episodes, but after seeing the first three (fourth is being dl'd as I type this) I've deemed this series worthy of a chance.

The story has something to do with a space station orbiting earth. Most of what I've seen thus far has really given me an Ender's game type of feel. However, it does have quite a hint of romantic themes as well, something Ender's game didn't have much of.

Four or five groups have started subbing this, the most noteable being Anime Universe and Yes-y. I checked out the first and second episodes from both of these groups and found them to be about equal. Yes' picture quality does seem a little better, yet its grammar/spelling/translation seem to be sub par compared to Ani U's. Either way, both groups are doing a good job, and are not far behind the leading group (YourMom) who have been throwing out crappy versions of the newest episodes (they recently released episode 5) less than 24 hrs after the raw hits the net. The translation is riddled with bad grammar/spelling and even some lines leaving you guessing what's actually going on, but if you really WANT to be ahead that much, you can go with them as well.

Anyways, I just wanted to know if anyone else has been watching this series, as I'd like someone to discuss it with. If not, that's fine, I can see most people already have plenty on their plates, but I was just curious.

Nah, it's just something new for me. You gotta admit, it's always more fun if you have people you can discuss the latest episodes with.

I find it hilarious just how bad this series is. I have seriously never seen anything like it.

The production values (animation, art quality, etc) are simply beyond wretched. Nothing else I have seen even approaches this level of budgetlessness.

The directing/storyboarding does everything in its power to make the above flaw glaringly obvious, and then continually finds new ways to make the show incredibly boring and devoid of life, intelligence, or wit.

The characters are barely even cardboard cutouts. The scripting is banal, and the smaller scenarios within each episode are ridiculous to the point of hilarity.

That being said, I am still watching it for some reason. I am mildly interested in the overarching plot, which is just about the only thing that this show has done somewhat right.

So you hate it but are watching it... how does that make any sense. And you actually care about what a series LOOKS like... wow... I thought I was a harsh critic... apparently not.

Sure the series is lacking in some departments, I didn't say it was amazing either. I just don't judge something by the first 19 minutes as any series rarely gets anything accomplished.

But either way, its story seems to be taking some turns for the better, keeping me here... and as stated above, you as well.
