RE: Why the RIAA can suck it.
I actually read the whole essay. It's a good, well thought-out essay. Honestly, I would give it an A minus, or like a 91-92 or something in that range, mainly because of the structure of the paper. I can't pinpoint the actual errors since your paper is college level and mine is only English 3 level, but all in all it's a good essay with good points to back up your statement.

LOL AUTO GRAMMAR CHECKER CAUGHT THAT ONE
I agree with you completely, but you didn't hit all the points I would have. I would have probably mentioned underground free music downloading sites, and things of that nature (music being propogated on myspace and other blog communities).
Also, it wouldn't be free to have free songs available on the Internet. It'd cost the record companies to keep up the sites and the servers. But again this is kind of irrelevent since they'd surely be plastered with advertisements, and they'd be making money back through some CD sales.
This won't happen though. Think of it in terms of class conflicts of the bourgeoisie and the proletariat(LOL@BIG WERDS). What you're basically reccomending is that they switch places. The record industry simply won't hand over it's power over the artists.
PS you probably should have used the term "message board" instead of forums. A lot of people won't know of that definition of forum, but would easily understand message board.
PPS ~3 pages double spaced for college writing assignments? College writing sounds easy~

I was keeping it simple, and yes, this is assumed.Originally posted by AfrobeanAlso, it wouldn't be free to have free songs available on the Internet. Contract has to be signed by two parties. Bands just have to stop using the labels. (yes i know labels have a few good traits such as capital for recording costs and things; another topic entirely)Originally posted by AfrobeanThis won't happen though. College writing is easy. There's no page requirement for this assignment either, but my papers tend to run 4-7 pages.Originally posted by AfrobeanPPS ~3 pages double spaced for college writing assignments? College writing sounds easy~Comment

RE: Re: RE: Why the RIAA can suck it.
shouldn't the 16.98 have a dollar sign in front or something. Otherwise i noticed nothing wrong
oops sorry,
in the middle of page 3, you say "and more merchandise bought"
wouldn't "and more purchased merchandise" sound better?
Also, bottom of page one there is a semicolon when i think a comma might work

RE: Re: RE: Why the RIAA can suck it.
Why bother mentioning Virginia? When a CD is purchased, who is making the most money? Let us say that a certain CD is $16.98 and purchased in a store in Virginia.
I'd reword that to, "This in turn would make for better concert turnouts and more purchased merchandise, resulting in more income for the band."This in turn would make for a better turnout at concerts, resulting in more money and more purchased merchandise.Comment
