    Calling all left-handed one-handed players

Alright, this is specifically to the left-handed one-handed players.

What advanced technique have you guys discovered (if any) of how to FC songs like Delirium, Thinking Different, CIA Rave, etc without your arm getting tired as hell to the point where the fingers stop wanting to move?
We all know that keyboards werent made for lefties and playing with our right hand isnt as pottentially fulfilling as with our left hand because its not as strong and one handed makes it even harder.

Lefty and one handed? That must be hard. My reccomendation is using your index finger and middle finger mostly.

for three years i've played three fingers only and i dont feel like becokming a noob all over, if even for a short time agian, while learning the two hand method. i was wondering if anyone left handed one handed even exists besides me and if yes, to share how they are able to fc the master songs with that hand technique..especially song for the naryins holy crap that song is long as hell

I'm left handed and tried the one handed thing for maybe a week. I play index now and it's a lot easier. So that's what I recommend doing.

dont even bother playing 1 handed, switch to 2 hands, its the best thing you could ever do in ffr, besides i dont know of any 1 handers that can full combo any of the songs you mentioned, just switch to 2 hand 4 finger(pretty much best choice) or index, even 3 fingered works great, 1 handed players just generally cant move their hand fast enough to do alot of the master level songs

I was hoping there was another way out of the 2 handed option but I guess there isn't is there ;(
oh well, i'll think about this cuz you have to have a totaly differnt coordiantion for 2 hands. it's gonna be like going back to the ol' drawing board and starting from scratch but i guess its the ONLY method that works
3 years of one-handed leftiness was tough. at first, it was tough getting past standard, then overcame that be instead of using my left hand, i used my right hand, then i was able to fc challenging songs, but got tiring as hell with one hand. now im at that brick wall again after switching to my right hand.
me switching to 2 hands is like a senior citizen trying to learn how to use a computer for the first time..i dont want to do it!
but oh well, i guess after all these years, it's time for a change

learn 4 fingered first, youll be able to do better at most songs than index, it will take about a month to get completely used to the setup, and btw, you should probly use the numpad for 4 finger setup, it might feel awkward at first, but it will pay off in the long run, good luck with this ^_^ and just keep practicing!!

Yeah, why do I still suck?

I think it has to do with the fact that I've never had hardware that can actually render FFR correctly and I took a 1 year break from FFR last year after Arch left.

                  I'll get better, one day...

alright, let;s say i start from scratch and start using 2 hands..when using the numpad arrows, which fingers on my left hand do i use for which arrows and which fingers on my right hand should i use for which arrows?
if im going to start all over, i want to restart with no errors

well you should do whatever is comfortable for you, but the standard setup is; left index = down, left middle = left, right index = up, right middle = right. some people use their ring fingers instead of middles, some people have a different placement, its all up to you, just whatever works the best for you.

Oh, I just talked to my friend who played SM for years and said he uses 1 hand only too so we did a 1 vs 1 in FFR and he almost FC'd Delirium on his first try and said SM was harder O.o
So, I guess it IS possible with one hand, just need to take some caffeine pills so I don't get tired in the hands and it's all guud

Super's topic is very helpful for anyone trying to find out the benefits
and what is involved for practically every setup. I suggest reading it.
Also if you want to get better seriously do both index and the 4 finger
setup. Index is THE best way to do streams because it flows easier and
is easier to read than 4 fingers. 4 fingers allows you to pretty much
everything else (some troubles with jumps though but that's over with
                            practice.)

Umm delirium is pretty easy song in SM, I know some 1 handers that are well, just amazing.. fcing songs 4x harder than delirium could ever hope to be. My only suggestion is practice more and more? How many hours per day do you play? Do you play songs that are above your comfort level? Because only way to improve is to play hard stuff. If you don't put enough hours and play songs you are only comfortable with, your improvement rate will be that much longer.

I suggest switching to SM or at least try it along with FFR if you haven't already.
