    Props to all 4-finger players

This goes to people who play FFR or SM...

I give 4-finger players a lot more credit since I have been playing using the askl setup...there's a lot more coordination to it than I thought, but I like the setup.

I need to get my middle fingers used to playing, seeing as I was an indexer for nearly 2 years....the hardest steps being the LD and UR combination steps (double or 8th/16th, still hard to hit for me).

    So...yeah, way to go everyone

Just so you know, 4 finger generally refers to a 2468 or an arrowkeys setup. I use 2468 numpad, so I'm 4 finger numpad. Arrowkeys would be 4 finger arrowkeys. Any other setup is referred to as "Spread". What you are talking about is called "Spread". You give "Spread" players props.

You really should start one hand and then switch once you feel you have the hang of SM.

And female: What finger placement do you use? I have my right index on 6 and middle on 8.

Wtfh. Are you talking Numpad? I think you're a bit mistaken, that's really effin awkward. Anyways, I have right ring on 6, middle on 8, left ring on 4, middle on 2.

I sure as hell hope you're talking about being spread somehow on 2468 with the numbers above the middle part, because it's hard to even keep my fingers like that with one hand, much less PLAY like that.

Umm...why should I start playing one handed? I've been playing SM for over a year and a half...playing the *spread setup is just hard for me because I've been playing index from the very beginning....@_@

left hand is on down left (arrow keys)
right hand is on 8 6 (numpad)

If Snapps turned his right hand around, he'd play like me. Also, I have been enlightened today. I always thought my style was spread, but I guess not. XD Good ol 4 finger for me.

                  left index: down arrow

                  left middle: left arrow

                  right middle: 8 on numpad

                  right ring: 6 on numpad.

                  How I play.

EDIT: Started one handed though... switching was difficult. But very effective in the long run.

                    Right index: Numpad 8

If you did not mix up what fingers are on the left and down keys, then yes, you beat Snapps for the weirdest playing style on FFR.

ok...trills and speed are giving me problems right now with the askl setup, trills are obvious (LD and UR 99.9 percent of the time), but the speed I guess just because the setup is new to me, my middle fingers arent used to being used full time...

any songs (preferably slower) for FFR or SM that I can used to practice these (for now) shortcomings of mine?

It still doesn't mean much if he's not very good with the style :/

It takes about a month of practice to be able to switch from index to spread. I did and the only thing I still have problems with on spread is doing stream but everything else is almost BETTER than my index skillz. Just after 1 month....
