Omega Rocks at WoW / Omega Sucks at WoW

I'll try to make this story as non-World-of-Warcraft-player-friendly as possible.

My friend is letting me play his account. I'm not hooked on it, but it's a very good game and when I start to play it, I can really get into it for a few hours. Currently, I am still a WoW newbie (but knowing some things here and there) and have a level 13 human rogue.
Now, there are 3 big places for the Alliance (because the game is slipt into Horde races versus Alliance races). Stormwind City, run by the human race, Ironforge, run by the Gnomes and Dwarves, and Darnassus, run by the Night Elves.

Now, one day day I was playing and I found myself in a predicament: I was out of money! Normally one usually does quests for moeny, but I had done all the ones available to me in the Stormwind area. I decided the next best place to go looking for quests is in Ironforge. I went there, got lots of XP, but never really enough money. So I decided the next logical choice would be Darnassus.

The problem was that I had no idea how to get to Darnassus, which was all the way on the other side of another continent. Which I asked how to get to the other continent, someone said "take the boat in southern Stranglethorn Vale." This is Stranglethorn Vale. Studying the map, it seemed that there were 2 towns where I could rest. The Grom'Gol Base Camp, and Booty Bay. Logic dictated that the boat in southern Stranglethorn Vale would be in Booty Bay. "Okay," I say, "to Darnassus I go!"
Look back at that map. See the road that starts at the very north? That's where I started. When I walked into Stranglethorn Vale, there was bad news right away. "STRANGLETHORN VALE, CONTESTED TERRITORY." This means that on these grounds, Alliance and Horde races can attack each other at free will. More bad news, I spot a NPC monster, put my cursor over it, and it says "Level ??" In other words, the monsters are WAY more powerful than I am. But I figure I'll be okay, because as long as I don't wonder off the main road they won't get close enough to attack me. Then.....it happened. For the first time, I was "GANKED" by a Horde player who was also travelling the main road. Basically, being "GANKED" is when you're a weaking level less-than-20 and some REALLY powerful guy that's like 40 or 60 or something comes along and casually kills you in a singleblow from his Level Billion weapon.

UGH. Being non-World-of-Warcraft-player-friendly takes forever and takes away from the story. Screw this.

Basically, I got ganked 5 trillion times on my way to Booty Bay by both NPCs and Horde, but it was freaking worth it for all the stores and trainers there so I made it my home, and took the ship to the other continent. Unfortunately, the place on that continent was deep in the heart of Horde territory, and because I still had no money and I made my home Booty Bay, I couldn't get back to Stormwind by gryphon, nor hearthstone. So I decided to do the best thing ever:
    (A) I may get killed a ton, but I'm going to make my way on foot through the Horde territories to Darnassus.
    (B) Once I'm at Darnassus, I'll do quests, level up some, get money, and then take a boat to Menethil Harbor.
    (C) Back on my original continent, I'll head from Menethil Harbor back to Stormwind City on foot.
Why? Because when you go on foot, you gain experience for discovering new lands, and though it's an incredibly ineffective way to gain XP, it's also a TON more fun than grinding monsters.
When I told this to my WoW-veteran friend, he called me crazy. Maybe I am.
But at least I'm making the game fun for myself.

      Heeheeheehee!

I'm going to miss the small town of Ratchet. I there's nothing quite as enjoyable as some jerk attacking you, you running towards the nearest goblin, and having that goblin crush his butt. The best part was when I waited for him to respawn by his body, so I could give him the meanest insult I could muster: blowing him a kiss. This must have REALLY infuriated him, because then he charged me AGAIN, only to be ganked by the level 57 goblin AGAIN. Then I called him an idiot, even though he couldn't understand me.

            Well, I did it.

I have officially done an entire circuit around the World of Warcraft, starting as a level 14, and ending as a level 16.
