Regarding: MP room spammers and the like

Has anyone tried a type of bot that kicks people for sending, say, too many messages per second, or too many messages too fast in general? As far as the lag issues are concerned, I think this would help keep the spam-induced lag to a general minimum. I don't know if this has been tried before or not, but I hope it'd be some sort of a help, at least until Moderators are put into place.

I heard there was a time quite a while ago when there was something implemented in MP where people got kicked out if they sended too many at one time. Unfortunately, it also kicked out legit users, too.
Just a guess, though. I haven't really seen it in action.

Yeah, I thought I read something about that, but I'd rather be randomly kicked for being able to type too fast, than lose match after match to lag burps because some moron's posting ";" forty times a second.

Simple solution. Set the viewers in your room to zero. Not hard at all. You can also put on a password if you're worried about someone else joining the game.

Besides, that old automatic moderation didn't just kick, it banned. Kicking a spammer will just make them come back and spam more anyway. And if the automoderation were still in use, the spammers could just learn the rate at which they can spam at and NOT get kicked. Sure, slow spamming, but spamming still.

Anyway, there will be MP moderators in there in the future. I'd assume they'll be implemented by the next release.

I didn't mean in private rooms; if someone spams in there, I'm more likely to quit and make a new room. An ability to Ignore users would be quite helpful, too. Y'know, where messages from an Ignored user just plain don't show up?

Here's hoping the mods are up to the work ahead of them.

Mods will probably be implemented in 3rd style.

              I sure hope so.

Just seconds ago, after the third "hi, iv nvr plyd this b4 how r u supposd to ply?" I got angry and asked people to please start speaking English, instead of whatever they were speaking in. I got the likes of "weel, u can stil understand wat im saying, rite?", which made me more angry, so insults were traded, and 3 people started spamming the space bar.

Which made firefox crash on my G5 dual 2.5 Ghz in 4 seconds.
