    Tass takes a World Record!

So, not all that big of a deal.... but I just took 2 World Records on the Unofficial N64HS Page... http://www.geocities.com/n64highscores/

A decent racing game that isn't so well known... or infamous if you've ever played the game and tried to steer... Top Gear Rally for the n64.

Just set the WR for the 1-lap and 3-lap times for the 4th track, Mountain. 2:03.49 and 6:16.16, breaking the record by .98s and 4.31s respectively. I even got nervous as hell on the last lap, going 4 seconds slower than I could have.

Also have the 2nd place times for 3-laps on Coastline and 1-lap and 3-laps for Desert. 3rd place for 1-lap Coastline and 5th for 1-lap and 3-laps Jungle.

I dare any of you to beat my times:
    Coastline - 3:49.99 (can't recall the hundredths)
    Jungle - 5:40.99 (same)
    Desert - 6:17.86
    Mountain - 6:16.16

Also, should any of you wish to compete on the site, go for it. You'll find the times/scores extremely competitive.

I first played they game after playing Star Wars Podracer...all I remember is that any racing game compared to Star Wars Podracer is extremely slow.

      Congrats.

I have some top10 times in Star Wars Ep1 Racer as well (on that site)... but, yea. Its a pretty fast paced game. I'm pretty close to beating all 25 tracks... 2 to go, both on the Invitational Circuit

You can tell that this is a huge community because they refer to each other on first name terms.

Pumble: Check out the Player's List... there are hundreds. There just aren't that many people that submit TONS of stuff, and if you check the updates, over a certain period its lots and lots of the same people sending in times, so there isn't a need to repeat last names. Plus, the whole site is name based, not handle based. You won't see any Tasselfoot entries in there.

PS - My update will show up in about 2 hours when its updated today.

RE: Tass takes a World Record!

No. But I've talked to him before. You can download his runs from Ep1 Racer here: http://speeddemosarchive.com/EpisodeIRacer.html

                They are extremely good.

EDIT: I'm Mike Pollack. I have a few 9th and 10th place times. I really should play that game again as my times are fairly bad..... a few times in Cruisin' USA from 5th to 10th... have some other times I haven't sent in yet. And then the TGR that will be put up tonight.

I had some Nintendo Power Power Rankings in Cruis'n USA. Damn, that must've been when I was in about 7th grade. That game sucked...I don't know how I played it so much. Oh well. I'll probably get hooked and try to get some more records again.
I'll trade you this delicious doorstop for your crummy old danish.

I have Episode I Racer for the Game Boy Color, and I like to think I have some good times...my best on any track is 60.14 on Tattooine 1st stage using Anakin. (I remember he starts the game pretty slow with a top speed somewhere in the 600s, but he now maxes out at 735. )

God, I haven't played that game in a long time. I'll have to dust it off and see what else I can post about.

I need to set some scores for Star Fox 64. I probably could get a WR for times. I literally beat the game one day in less than an hour and a half.

WR Vid of Star Fox 64 game completion: 27 minutes and change... http://speeddemosarchive.com/StarFox64.html

Hour and a half. Hehe. Also, gl on the score WRs up on the n64hs page. Those guys have been working on that and improving it for about 6 years now.

Igotrhythm: WR lap for The Boonta Training Course is 29.96 seconds. You can get a vid of 32.74 from the link I posted above. Also, I'd imagine there are differences between the GBC version and the N64/Dreamcast/PC version, considering the limitations of the system. My best on TBTC is 39 and change.

EDIT: Just checked... actually my best is 38.10, best 3 laps is 1:58.99
