Probably one of the most versatile Pokemon teams ever...

If and when I ever get Pokemon Emerald, I came up with a pretty good team that not only is great for combat, but also does well in Pokemon Contests, too. (I left my notes on personalities and Pokeblocks at home. <_<)

The Pokemon of choice and their move sets are as follows:

Pinsir: Swords Dance, Submission, Strength, Rock Smash.
Reasoning: While Swords Dance is a Beauty move, it's necessary to get the most out of Rock Smash. Submission and Strength are also a couple of powerful attack moves.

Gardevoir: Psychic, Future Sight, Flash, Hypnosis.
Reasoning: Believe it or not, Psychic followed by Future Sight is an appeal combo. As for Flash...well, it's a Beauty move, but someone in my party has to have it. Hypnosis is useful because opponents are far less dangerous once they start snoozing.

Milotic: Waterfall, Rain Dance, Surf, Dive.
Reasoning: I find it easier if all the water HMs go on a single Pokemon. And while Rain Dance and Waterfall are both Tough moves, the fact that Rain Dance before any Water move is a combo is nice, as well as Surf and Dive in either order. Get a Feebas with a Modest nature for best results.

Slaking: Rest, Snore, Amnesia, Ice Beam.
Reasoning: Making a Pokemon for Cute contests is more difficult than it may seem at first. Amnesia is necessary to raise its condition and fight back the effects of nervousness brought on by the likes of Attract. Of course, Rest followed by Snore is a combo. As for Ice Beam, well, I thought that it would be pretty handy to have against Winona and the Elite Four. (Winona's Altaria knows Earthquake, for God's sake... >_<)

Salamence: Flamethrower, Dragonbreath, Dragon Claw, Fly.
Reasoning: Every team needs a Pokemon that can wing it, right? Anyway, Dragonbreath followed by Dragon Claw happens to be a combo. Flamethrower will help it fight off varied opponents that its teammates couldn't quite handle, especially Ice-types that have a tendency to screw Dragons.

Sceptile: Cut, Slam, Leaf Blade, Screech.
Strategy: This is the only one I didn't design for Contests. As a consequence of this move set, Sceptile will be relying more on a physical assault, slamming and cutting the foe while using Screech to lower the target's resistance to that kind of punishment. (Well, except for if the enemy Pokemon has Soundproof.) This Pokemon will probably be my weapon of choice against a tough Electric-type due to the lack of a Ground Pokemon in the party.

Well, there you have it...a team with every HM technique, a balanced assortment of element types, and all but one are designed for a different kind of Contest as well as combat. Let me know what you come up with if you deem this topic worthy of being replied to! ^_^
