    The Periodic Table of Elements Game!

    So I'm sitting in AP Chemistry today, just slunking in my chair, when an idea for A not so retarted game came to mind. I post the Electron configuration of an element, and you give me the name of the element, its symbol, its atomic mass, and its atomic number. So an example would be as follows:

    Electron configuration---> 1s (If an electronic configuration has something to the + power, I will post it as this ^ whatever power, keeping the added power in A smaller font)

    So the answer would be like this:

    Name---> Hydrogen
    Symbol---> H
    Atomic Mass---> 1.00794
    Atomic Number---> 1

    I will usually post A few at A time, so it doesn't take too long. So to get it started, here are your first few configurations!

    1) [Ar]4s^2

    2) [Kr]4d^45s^1

    3) [Ar]3d^64s^2

    And go!

        1. Name: Calcium
        Symbol: Ca
        Atomic Mass: 40.076
        Atomic Number: 20

        2. Name: Niobium
        Symbol: Nb
        Atomic Mass: 92.90638
        Atomic Nubmer: 41

        3. Name: Iron
        Symbol: Fe
        Atomic Mass: 55.8457
        Atomic Number: 26

        But when we do electron configurations we would do it this way: [Kr]5s^1 4d^4

            Sentences I thought I never would have to type.

              Stop capitalizing "a" in every one of your fucking posts. Only do it at the beginning of a sentence.

                I have said this many times. I know it is incorrect gramar. I don't care. It is A from of habbit. It isn't A big deal either. Does it make my posts illegible? No. It just annoys people overly anal about grammar.

                So just deal. Don't wet your pants over my grammar.

                  RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: The Periodic Table of Elements Game!

                  I know the entire freaking Periodic Table, save for the atomic masses and a couple of exceptions to the Aufbau principle.

                  Chromium has [Ar](4s^1)(3d^5)
                  Copper has [Ar](4s^1)(3d^10)

                  Why? Because the 4s and 3d subshells have approximately the same energy, and half-filled or full d subshells are more stable than what the "building-up" principle would predict for their ground state configurations.

                  I am a lonely man, indeed. <_<
