ISHKUR'S GUIDE TO FUCKING ELECTRONIC MUSIC. THAT'S RIGHT.

    http://www.di.fm/edmguide/music.swf

The original version of this guide about a year and a half ago, kind of got me into electronic music(or "techno" as the ignorant people call it). Hopefully it will for you too.

I think what he is trying to rub in here is the fact everyone calls anything with a dance beat techno, when in fact the songs aren't even close to that genre. There are even sub-genres of techno. Think of it as an educational experience.

hybrid's finished symphony is quite possibly one of my favorite songs ever. its under the "break trance" under trance.

dont listen to happy hardcore. just dont.

I laughed at the epic house section.

                Why?

It totally trashes it and it has these samples:

                Moonlight Shadow (stupid dance mix)
Take On Me (stupid dance mix)
                Heaven

It couldn't be more right about it, either.

archowl, electronic music is a category. like uhh.. it covers techno, trance, rave etc. blahblahblah.
You're a fucking idiot. You make no fucking sense.

I'm well aware electronic music is a category.

I'm well aware what each genre is.

I wasn't being a hypocrite, you're just retarded. You didn't even point out where I was a hypocrite. I think you should go find out what a hypocrite actually is before you try to call me one.

Yeah, he is retarded. And he thinks he is a ninja.

Ambient is most likely the music you will be listening to when you die.
                  BEST EVER.

What I learned from that site or things that pissed me off:

And exhale is not crap. Exhale is one of the greatest songs ever written.

                  HappyHardcore gets me the bitches.

                  Rotterdam Sucks ass.

Gabber is not Rotterdam. Because Rotterdam is fucking horrible.

                  Worldbeat gives me goosebumps.

Downtempo is the best genre ever.

Yes, but I agree with most of his opinions though. Especially about that friggin' speedcore or noizecore thing or whatever the hell it was called. Partly because it was so insanely repetitive I wanted to smash my speakers, and partly because I got up and tried to dance to it.

Here's some good, general advice: Never dance to anything that is like...1000 BPM. I smashed my foot into the side my comp desk and it hurt like a bitch.

Wow, there must be a ton of hardcore (as in hardcore, not the genre you tards :P) electronic music communitys that are incorrect then.

They are. That dude is very biased. Just because he doesnt like a certain type of music, doesnt mean it sucks. It's like me saying that football sucks, just because I dont like it.

i never really thought of genres mostly on a time based scheme, but only regional..

He forgot to mention most who did the Chi-town darkstep came from a mostly poor community, and it is a reflection of the crappy life they lived, mostly barren and buzzy, sort of what you would expect out of Metropolis. that is why most of those "who listen to it wear hoodies" and bump it..

They are artistic movements, not just some crap. They are offshoots of each other and refelctive of the enviroments the artists are brought up in. You have to stop looking at it as something just to dance to and you will see why his remarks are offensive in some cases.

Goa is one of the most amazing styles ever, and it is spiritual because look at what part of the world it came from.. But he doesn't like that, so suddenly the whole movement isn't as awesome as it could be.

I don't think it has to be ultra technical to fairly represent each artist, but if you are going to label everyone, you should do a better job instead of being an asshole about it.

I guess you wouldn't really understand Arch, seeing that your attitude towards things is so similar to his, in that you think being informative means that it is just your opinion instead of facts.

If you wish to continue this debate, try to think up an argument that doesn't revolve around some stupid degenerative remark you crapped out, and i will begin to take your cesspool of thoughts seriously.
