This is obviously going to be for a future update, but how about having a few other things in the FFR store besides unlockable songs?
Graphical Interface - The main menu is neat, but how about having an "Old School" Orange set-up, like in the early beta days of FFR? The background would be orange, the buttons would be colored circles, and various other li'l things to bring back the taste of older times.
This idea could be expanded to buy an interface for each genre, the current interface being "Dance."
Menu Selection Songs - Let's face it. The main menu has ALWAYS had a repetetive and annoying theme that urges players to make a quick decision before insanity sets in... more. Why not have one or two compositions on the main menu which are a little easier on the ears? You'd have to earn them, naturally.
Level Up - This one should be worth a hefty sum of credits (and would understandably be in a MUCH later update). When you purchase this one, you immediately jump to a different scoring system, more like the one in earlier beta (where Perfect could only be achieved within a split-second). This "level up" would make you part of different high score lists, as well. This would keep the newbies separate from the old-timers who would all be in a league of their own.
Skins - The energy bar has a nice interface, but how about spicing things up a bit? Make a few others, and put them on sale. If you're really daring in programming, how about an arrow redesign?
Song Preview - You get one (1) test run (per purchase) in one song of your choice that does not affect your credits / score / song count. The energy meter becomes pointless, and only a gauge of how well you could do in a song if you were playing for real. You still get a score, but it does not get recorded, even if it's a good score. That way, those of us who can't play Beethoven Virus that well *cough* can hear the whole song.
New "Loading" Meter - I personally don't mind the current meter that is shown while loading songs, but I figured I'd just throw out as many ideas as possible just so it'd be out there.
Secret Characters - After Blayder Jane heals from terminal writer's cramp, perhaps could we have 3 or 4 bonus characters? If you don't want to abuse Jane further, would you consider making the FFR logo a character, with different poses as expressions? (S)He would make a really nice default for newbies & unregistered people.
Are these ideas satisfactory? After all, FFR is an audio-visual experience.
