ITG North American Tournament 2005: Meet-up List!

I just recently had an interesting idea. Instead of making a bunch of different meet-up topics, why not just make one! Then I thought "could there possibly be a way every meet-up could happen at around the same time, thus justifying a thread that would be kept alive over time?”

I was thinking if there could be a series of meet-ups at none other than the different locations of the ITG North American Tournaments! How this topic will work would be simple; post the details (link) of the tournament you will be going to and I will edit this first post with a grand list of everyone going to the specific tournament.

Here is the link to what I'm talking about: http://www.roxorgames.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=10586

Read the stuff on that link and you should understand it. The basic concept is that there is a bunch of local ITG tournaments across North America and we could meet-up at the different tournaments.

Don't like ITG or even DDR for that matter? That's alright; a meet-up doesn't only need to consist of the tournament. The list simply means you will be going to the meet-up. I don't want any of this "maybe" crap either; say if you're going or not and learn how to make a solid plan. I already booked off work so I can go to my local tournament. If you STILL say maybe, I'll put a * beside your name.

I'll start off with an example of the tournament I'm going to.

Having trouble finding a tournament you can go to? They should all be listed here.

P.S. - If no one thinks this is a good idea, then scrap it if you want, but I think it could turn out decently; even if only 2-4 people go to each location.

Added Snapps' and eVILPeeR's tournaments. Hopefully now that I have another example this is a bit clearer.

I'm off to bed now, so I'll add the rest tomorrow afternoon.

The only thing about that ITG tournament is that you have the arcades mobbed, and also it is Experts Only. I am a 6-7 footer, and the qualifier is an 11.

I still have plans to create an Ontario meetup sometime the week of Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is the 24th, so maybe Saturday the 26th, or some other time near then.

Cenright, do you think we can build up a tournament with the DDR machine at Ontario?

I can always try to get RO to suppost and sponsor it.

Sure it's a lot of work, but i'm pretty sure we can handle it.

I feel your pain, Cenright. I'm still struggling with stuff like Delirium Hard or pretty much any 8-footer. It doesn't help that the pad at our arcade is busted on both sides. (Both sides have a down arrow that doesn't register unless you hit it in the middle, and I've had issues with freeze notes on the right arrow of the 1P side...some of my friends have said that it's how I distribute my weight because our ITG pad is a commandeered DDR metal one, the only difference being that the dumbasses who run the place decided to wrap the bar on the ITG pad in electrical tape.)

In general, anything with more than a few chaos notes, mines or rolls (I think that's what they are...they look like spiky hold notes, and I have no idea how one is supposed to hit them) completely screw me over as of yet. I like to think I have good accuracy on the stuff I can do, however...I have a couple high scores on our machine above 95%, and several more at 90% or better. All of them are on 6-footers or lower, however. :/

There aren't any Michigan locations listed yet, anyway, so it's all good.

Snapps, the tournament isn't the point though for most of us. It is the meetup. None of us are at your skill level, and many of us just played a few rounds of DDR and that was it. The entire arcade was the meetup, not just some tournament, in which we could aready crown you as winner.

But really, how does their sponsoring help? I doubt they would pay for the Tournament.

Oh yeah I know the point of last time was the meetup. We all wanted to meet everyone and have a great time. I was just wondering if we should start a tournament, totally offtopic to the meetup.

                              Extremely out of date.
