    Best. DVD. Ever. EVER. EVAR!

Let me claify something for all you guys who haven't heard my rant...

"Who Framed Rogger Rabbit" is an effing effing effing brilliant combination of mature noir and cartoony humor. The blend is so amazing, it's....well, amazing! But seriously. It's a freaking great movie you can appreciate on both a child's and adult's level so much.

Second, the combination of Cartoons and Live Action in this movie is goddamn incredible. Look at the Star Wars prequels. Look at Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow. Every movie using CGI aspires to be as good as this movie, and miserably fails in comparison. The movie does SUCH a great job at making it so believable.

Third...The dialogue. The dialogue is SUPERB. Every last bit of it. Judge Doom's soliloquy(sp?), Jessica Rabbit's character development, Roger's philosophical view on humor, the excellent use of puns....Oh, and let's not forget Baby Herman's off-camera persona. Baby Herman was so funny.

But yeah, if you wanna say this movie sucks, you better have something really good to back it up. Because this movie rocks my ass. Now, on to the DVD.

Anyways, so I picked up the Special Edition DVD...It kicks total ass. It has, like, +4 hours of bonus features. Not even exaggerating.

Like, first, it comes with 3 30-minute cartoons of Baby Herman and Roger Rabbit in their crazy antics. Very hilarious stuff, like an ode to Tex Avery. I laughed out loud many times, especially at the end of each one when the director woudl scream "CUT!" and all the characters would walk off the set. It's a really funny way to break the 4th wall.

Then there's like shiiiiiiiitload of pictures, varying from character concepts to movie posters to movie production. Really interesting stuff, and some really kickass drawings too.

And then there's the really long "behind the scenes" documentary, where all the people talk about how it was simultaneously the best thing they had ever worked on, and the hugest pain in the ass to work on. Actually pretty neat.

And THEN, there's the Commentary during the movie. Usually commentary totally sucks balls (listen to the commentary of Sky Captain and the World of Tommorrow. You won't be able to stand it.). But the 5 or 6 guys that talk about the movie while watching are pretty entertaining. They talk about their favorite lines, laugh at the really funny bits, discuss all the controversy the character Jessica Rabbit created, point out a lot of little neat things that most people miss watching the movie, really enjoy talking about how they had to create "rules" as to what a toon could and couldn't do in the real world, and loved pointing out how this movie is the only time you will EVER see Donald and Daffy or Mickey and Bugs in the same screen together.

Plus, a few other totally awesome things. (Like two signature'd photos of Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit) There's so much awesome content, you almost forget that the movie has only one deleted scene, and even then, you get a great explanation on why the scene had to be deleted and how it was done and such before you watch it.

This is the best DVD ever. Truly. Honestly. It's the love of my life! The apple of my eye! The cream in my coffee!

I watched this movie the other day after that "Best cartoon character ever" and I must say that I agree that it's an awesome movie. I am totally jealous. Seriously though, how could a movie directed by Robert Zemeckis and featuring Christopher Lloyd prominently be bad?

I saw this movie ages ago. Probably when I was ten, so I don't remember much. Maybe I'll see it again.

I remember watching this as a little kid and wondering how could a rabbit date such a hot girl. Now that I'm older, I still can't see why Jessica loves Roger. Must be the bowtie. Also I thought it was frickin hilarious when Roger thought Jessica was cheating on him and all she was doing was playing Pattycake. ROFL

When Eddie Valiant asked why she's with Roger, she replies:
            He makes me laugh.
            Watch the movie, silly.

ZING! Afrobean got it. "He makes me laugh" was one of those great moments where Jessica's character developed more and more, and the audience began to see that she really was a good girl under all that "HOLY SEX APPEAL BODY HOT" stuff.

Yes, I want to get that dvd. It's a great movie. I watched it again about a year ago, and it's nice to pick up on all the adult humor that I didn't pick up as a kid. That movie was way ahead of it's time, which makes it a classic.
