my 1995 Neon, of which I am so fond of and have talked about many times here at FFR... is near death.
It is my first and only car, I have had it for a little over 4 years now.
Yesterday morning, as I was driving to work, a 18 foot truck backed out of a driveway into the street... right in front of my car. The backend of the truck took out a damn big chunk of the right side of my car.
The car is still driveable, although is far from asthetically pleasing... and has no right side-view mirror... and there is a chunk missing from the right side of my windshield...
So, for the next day or two I'll continue to drive my now totaled Pimpmobile, but will be forced to get a new vehicle within the next week.
I'm perfectly fine... it was more of a retardly big scrape than a crash, so I'm fine. My air bag didn't even go off. The car is only worth about 2500 bucks, so it wasn't difficult to total it. The majority of the right side of the car needs to be replaced... 4-5k worth of repairs.
The goal: get 4000 for the car, when its only worth 2500... so I can buy a 4000 car instead of a 2500 car.
PS - the stereo equiptment in the car is worth 2000+... gonna have to get that removed and put into the new car.
I gotta go get ready for work and take pictures of the car for insurance. I'll post pics of the damage later.
