a health tip from a fellow ddr player

Here's a tip that I learned the hard way: Don't play ddr right after eating a ton of junk food at a theatre: Bad Mix!!!
Ok, I just got done with a huge box of extra hot hot tamales (the candy) and the theatre I was at had ddr extreme. So I figured what the hell and I went and played. I played rythim and police, got a c, played some other song and got an a, and played sakura and it said I failed right after the last arrow (total lie, I did good, they're just retarded lol)
On the drive home I was sweating really bad, it was very hard to breathe, and I felt like I was going to hurl for like the next 2 hours. Now of course you would think that I was probably just dehydrated, wrong. I made sure to get enough water, the problem was that the only thing in my stomach other then water was candy! Damn you candy!!!
Make sure that you have eaten something good before you play ddr, especially the harder songs.

Shit dude I had no idea that food played that big of a role in it, and I've been playing ddr for 3 years now. Don't give me crap for something you probably didn't know anything about either.

I'm pretty sure she knows what she was talking about... That's just common sense.
Eat well, you perform well... Eat candy, you get nothing but a sugar high and a bunch
of energy for a while, and then your body drops your blood sugar levels at an extremely
fast rate, and you feel like crap afterwards. At least you exercised with all that candy...
Most of it will get burnt by your heightened metabolism due to the DDR'ing you did that day.

Hmmm... Well, I've played ddr since it came out... and, I've never had a problem when playing any of the ddr songs... So you are saying you eat depending on the difficulty of the song??? I think that's an eating disorder... Anyways, just don't eat junk period. I think that is the easy solution. Not that I've ever had a problem.

Lately everything I eat is pure. Been going to that Farmers Market and crap.

I'm still not healthy enough to play DDR anymore though. Woe is me.

i recently got to the end of psmo in legend road, and let me tell yah, breathing properly makes a huge difference. you must concentrate on that more than the steps.(unless of course ur handle is megamanx)

It's kind of obvious with ANY sport/activity demanding a lot of ENERGY which can only be consumed (eating drinking etc etc)

Aw sweet, for real? I wanna see pictures. I usually have a Philly Cheesesteak before I play DDR, and when I don't have anything at all, I seem to have less stamina. Also(when I don't eat anything), when I do get close to my limit, my will to keep playing more games is just...less. Then I just quit. As long as it's not candy or something that's just going to give you a temporary boost of energy, then it's probably okay. Yeah.

Health Tip: Whether you eat or not before playing DDR or ITG, ALWAYS BUY WATER AND REFILL IT CONSTANTLY. Never buy softdrinks or coffee or tea or anything else, ONLY WATER.

My goodness, Czechowicz. You rock. Three things make you amazing.

                        1. You can almost FINISH Legends Road.

                        2. In your AAA pics, you really do look chubby, making this one of those, "ZOMG WTF!??!?!" accomplishments.

                        3. You have a Strong Bad avatar.

Great...now I gotta strive to pass you, then the rest of the greats. I only need to know one thing:How long have you been playing?

If food plays a part in how you perform, you have a weak stomach. Lack of food is a different story though, since that's just a given. You want a health tip? Stretch beforehand, keep a steady pace for breathing, and don't tap harder than you need to. Take it from someone who has asthma and a minor heart murmur that can A PSMO doubles.

Oh well, it could have been worse... you could have done something like I did once, eat nothing but candy and soda, then play for a couple of hours... I felt really icky afterwards (I never do anything like that anymore!)
